I'm a native Brenhamite and raised my two children here as well, teaching Sunday school at Christ Lutheran Church and mentoring children through their confirmations there.

I love this community and its quiet, small-town life, and I work hard to protect that for longtime residents and newcomers alike. In 1992, when a hazardous salt dome storing petroleum waste ignited and exploded, killing my nephew and injuring my sister and several other residents, I joined a local grassroots activist group that successfully lobbied the Texas Legislature to have the salt dome removed, making the community safer for years to come.

In addition to selling real estate, I teach preschool, physical education, first aid, and CPR as the athletic coordinator at First Baptist School here in Brenham. Each year I coordinate the school's Jumping for Heart program, in which the kids participate in a jump-rope marathon to raise money for the American Heart Association. I also participate each year in the Relay for Life for the American Cancer Association.
